Our story begins at the end of The Wombles, when poor Bulgaria was forced to find another line of work and say goodbye to the other litter-collecting bastards. His new job came when a record producer heard Bulgaria whistling in a bus station toilet and burst down the door to offer him a contract. Bulgaria, in a state of shock and intense burning pain, agreed. The next month, Bulgaria's new release knocked Pele's rap album off the number 1 spot.
After his album's success, Bulgaria's new-found fame brought with it his new image. Gone were the days of the polite, religious figure who had been the pinnacle of a hit show, now Bulgaria was to follow the example of drunks, gamblers and drug addicts such as Cliff Richard and Donny Osmond.
As the novelty of a singing womble wore off, Bulgaria's career died and he was left with large debts and an addiction to bin bags. His failed career combined with extreme stress at home drove Bulgaria to take a machete to his bitch. Neighbours heard the screams coming from Bulgaria's house and alerted the police, but he was already dead by the time they arrived. He was found hanging from a door handle by a noose made from dead goldfish.
